Description
I was on the dock at the cottage this past summer. A great blue heron swooped in and landed on the rocky shoreline perhaps 30 feet away. Usually very skittish, I was surprised at this bird landing so close. It didn't start fishing. It stood there for perhaps 5 minutes before gracefully lifting off.
